Why are your jars so big for just 30 capsules?Updated 2 years ago

As a brand, we're really proud of our approach to everything from ingredient quality and sourcing to our packaging.

So, why do we use larger jars and why do we fill them with cotton wool? As we’re sure you've noticed, all of our products are packaged in amber glass. This is a conscious decision we have made from day one of the business, since glass is infinitely recyclable, unlike something like plastic, which can only be recycled 1-2 times maximum. Not only is glass more expensive to buy, ship, and fill, it can also be harder to source than plastic.

All our products are designed to last for one month - some of our products are one capsule a day, some are two a day. The simple answer is that there’s not a readily available glass option small enough for thirty capsules, so we had to make a decision between using a glass jar that is larger than necessary or pivoting to (cheaper, easier, faster) plastic. We hope you’ll agree that we made the right decision in choosing the glass option.

With regard to the cotton wool, that is standard practise in all our jars and with the vast majority of encapsulated supplements. We use hard shell capsules (HPMC), which are vegan and made from tree cellulose. They are strong, but if they experience a lot of movement during shipping, they can break. We aim to reduce the risk of shipping issues wherever possible, since there is nothing more frustrating than receiving damaged products.

We try to make the right decisions wherever possible and hold ourselves to high standards of social and environmental responsibility. Like everyone, we’re learning and always striving to be better.
